Still Heat

Image: Sleeping in Sepia by Massimo Danieli
The hot night lowers a heavy blotter
And quickly absorbs the whimpering little breezes.
The busy leaf ceases its delicate recording
And is transfixed with its story unfinished.
The pale chirp of the cricket
Is lost in a velvet pit of silence.
The weary body lurks in the cavern of its couch,
And fitfully dreams
Of the cool staccato of rain drops
On a tin roof.

Quote on women

Fire Woman by DG073
You see, women are like fires, like flames. Some women are like candles, bright and friendly. Some are like single sparks, or embers, like fireflies for chasing on summer nights. Some are like campfires, all light and heat for a night and willing to be left after. Some women are like hearthfires, not much to look at but underneath they are all warm red coal that burns a long, long while.
